The History of Our Bakery
The Pennsylvania Bakery was founded in 1986 by Ken & Michelle Schenk. It has been owned and operated in the 1713 Market Street, Camp Hill location for 22 years. In 1997, the bakery underwent an 
expansion that more than doubled the size of the baking and retail operation. Ken is from a long line of bakers that goes back more than 69 years, when Ken's grandparents immigrated from Germany. He also learned much of his knowledge from his grandfather & father in the Germantown section of Philadelphia along with his training at the Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, MN.
At the Pennsylvania Bakery we strive to offer as much quality and variety as possible to satisfy even the choosiest appetite. We provide a full line bakery, using only the finest ingredients. All our products are made from scratch and on the premises.
Cake Decorations
Each of our cakes is a work of art, that is hand-made and artistically decorated by one of our skilled decorators. We work very hard to suit all your cake needs, but do keep in mind that our decorators are "Creative Artists" who may infuse their own flair into the decorations. Therefore what you are picturing in your mind, may be slightly different than the outcome.
If you have an idea of a specialty decoration for your cake, please feel free to bring in a picture and we will work to meet your specific needs. The colors that are used on your cake are also mixed by hand, so it is possible that there will be some shade variations.
If you desire to have a photograph scanned onto the cake, please make sure that your image is of a very high quality. The better the picture quality, the better the outcome when scanned onto the cake.
Payment Terms
We accept cash, personal & business checks, and all forms of debit and credit cards, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Business Wholesale Accounts can be set up by contacting the bakery at (717) 763-7755. Payment is required upon pickup of orders. In cases of full sheet cakes, elaborate decorations, novelty cakes, or tier cakes, a deposit is required upon placing order and full payment is required BEFORE production of cake.
Delivery
For all purchases, we offer a delivery service to the Central Pennsylvania Area. A delivery charge, between $15.00 and $50.00, will be applied to the purchase total, depending on the location of the delivery. Delivery of Wedding Cakes is priced separately. In order to have an order delivered, you must provide us with a complete delivery address, name of contact person, contact phone number, and delivery time. We are not responsible for any damage that may occur after your product has been delivered.
Return Policy
We desire for each of our customers to be 100% satisfied with the products they purchase. If for some reason, you are unsatisfied please contact the bakery immediately. The store clerks and managers will work together to resolve your case in an individual and timely manner. Under no circumstances will a refund be given for a product. In some cases we will offer to fix a mistake, replace a cake, or provide a gift certificate towards a future purchase.
Allergies
Your health and safety are of greatest importance to us at the Pennsylvania Bakery. Therefore, if you possess any mild to severe allergies to ingredients, such as peanuts, eggs, grains, fruits, or dairy products, please contact us for a list of ingredients before consuming any of our products. Although we adhere to the utmost standards of cleanliness in baking our products, cross contamination of ingredients is possible. If you are in doubt concerning a product, please do not consume the product.
